SEVEN FLAVOR POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1/2 c. shortening 3 c. sugar 5 eggs, beaten 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. milk 3 c. flour Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add milk and flour which baking powder has been added alternately. Blend well. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and pierce with ice pick. Pour glaze over cake while still hot. GLAZE: 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1 tsp. almond flavoring 1 tsp. coconut flavoring 1 tsp. rum flavoring 1 tsp. butter flavoring 1 tsp. lemon flavoring 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 tsp. orange flavoring Bring to a boil the sugar and water. Add flavoring and pour over warm cake. |
