KRINGLE 
1 c. butter
2 c. buttermilk
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 1/2 c. sugar

Cream sugar and butter. Combine buttermilk and soda. Alternately add buttermilk and some flour. Add baking powder, salt and more flour. Add lemon and remaining flour. Chill overnight or 6 to 8 hours. Dip by spoonful and roll in additional flour. Roll into rope and lay on cookie sheet in knot or pretzel design. Bake at 400 degrees 9 to 10 minutes. Very light in color.
