YULETIME DATE BALLS 
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (8 oz.) chopped dates
2 c. Rice Krispies
1/4 c. finely chopped nuts
1 pkg. flaked coconut

Mix egg, sugar, butter, salt, and dates in saucepan; cook, stirring frequently until dates are soft and mixture is thick.

Place saucepan in ice water until mixture is cool enough to handle. Add Rice Krispies and nuts; mix quickly. Shape into small balls with buttered hands. Roll each ball in coconut.
