GINGERBREAD COOKIES 
1 c. molasses
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
4 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla

In saucepan, bring butter, sugar and molasses to a quick boil. Cook about 5 minutes and cool. Stir in sifted flour, baking soda, salt and spices; 2 eggs, beaten and vanilla; mix well and chill.

On lightly floured board roll out dough very thin (use about 1/3 of dough at a time) and cut with cookie cutters. Arrange on a greased cookie sheet and bake in moderate oven at 375 degrees, about 5 minutes. Time may vary a minute either way according to oven. Cool, frost and decorate as desired.
