MAY DAGGETT BREAD 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. salt
3 c. very warm water
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. rye flour
1/4 c. molasses
1 c. raisin and nuts (optional)
2 pkgs. yeast

Mix 2 packages yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in the very warm (not hot) water. Let yeast and water foam. Add to the rest of the above ingredients and mix well. Add enough white flour to make a stiff dough. Knead until smooth and satiny. Grease well and put in bowl. Let rise until double. Mix down and divide into 3 portions. Shape into loaves and put into loaf pans. Let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees 30 to 35 minutes.
