MINCEMEAT NUT BREAD 
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 to 2 c. prepared mincemeat
1/2 c. shortening, melted
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

In a large mixer bowl, sift together flour, sugar, soda and salt. In a medium bowl, combine mincemeat, 1/2 cup water, cooled shortening, molasses and egg. Add to dry ingredients. Mix well; stir in nuts. Turn into a greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours. Cool. Wrap and refrigerate overnight before serving.
