BLACKBERRY COBBLER 
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1/3 c. milk
4-5 c. blackberries
1 c. sugar

Sift flour, baking powder and cut in shortening until it has appearance of coarse meal (working as short time as possible). Add milk; stir enough to mix. Turn out onto floured board, knead until smooth for about 1 minute. Bring berries to boil until real juicy and put in sugar and boil gently. While berries cook, roll out dough about 1/2 inch thick. Pour berries into greased baking dish, cover with biscuit dough and pierce with fork. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes.
