BLACKBERRY COBBLER 
1 qt. blackberries
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. milk

Put berries in an oblong baking dish and add sugar. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together; add shortening with finger tips. Add milk. Roll dough; cut openings in it and cover the berries with it. Bake about 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Cut into squares and serve plain or with cream.
