BANKET STAVEN 
1 lb. almond paste
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 lb. butter
1 c. water

Mix together paste, sugar and eggs; allow to remain in bowl for 30 minutes. Prepare flour, butter and water as for pie crust; cut butter in pastry blender. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each on floured board to 8"x13"; cut each in half to 4"x13". Form paste mix into 12" long "snakes". Place on dough. Fold ends over the sides. Moisten to seal. Place seam side down on cookie sheet. Brush tops with egg white or milk. Heat oven to 425 degrees. Bake 10 minutes; prick holes on tops. Bake at 375 degrees for another 10 minutes or until lightly browned. For four rolls, cut ingredients in half.
