VANILLA WAFER CAKE 
1 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
12 oz. vanilla wafers, crumbled fine
1/2 c. milk
1 c. nuts, chopped
7 oz. shredded coconut
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 325°F. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Add crumbs and milk alternately to mixture. Add nuts, coconut and vanilla. Put in well-greased and floured tube pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours.

Note: After placing cake batter in pan, tap pan firmly on countertop to release air bubbles.

Better the second day.
