OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 cup quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand for 20 minutes. Mix butter and sugars. Cream thoroughly.

Add eggs, one at a time. Mix all dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.

Add vanilla.

Bake in 9x13-inch pan for 25 to 30 minutes.

Topping:

3 tbsp. butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup coconut
1 cup nuts
2 egg yolks
4 tbsp. cream

Combine butter, brown sugar, coconut, nuts, egg yolks and cream. Mix thoroughly.

Spread on warm cake. Return to oven and bake until brown.
