CARAMEL BROWNIES 
14 oz. pkg. caramels
2/3 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. melted butter
1 (6 oz.) chocolate chips
1 German chocolate cake mix

Lightly grease 9 x 13 pan. Mix together butter, cake mix, 1/3 cup milk and pecans. Spread half of batter on bottom of cake pan and bake for 6 minutes at 350°F. Place caramels and 1/3 cup milk in dish and heat in microwave until melted, stirring frequently. Take cake out of oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top and pour caramel mixture on that. Pour remaining cake batter on top.

Bake 15 to 18 minutes. Cool; cut into squares.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
