KOLACHES 
Use ready prepared preserves for filling.

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
3 tsp. confectioners' sugar
2 egg yolks
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, cream cheese, sugar and egg yolks until fluffy. Add sifted flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla; blend well. Chill at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Roll chilled dough to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut with round cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Place 1 teaspoon of filling on each. Cover with second round which has hole in center.

Bake at 350°F about 12 minutes.

Note: Watch closely as these burn easily.
