KOLACHE (OR SWEET ROLLS) 
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
6-7 c. flour
3 c. warm liquid (water & milk)
1/2 c. shortening
2 egg yolks

Thoroughly mix yeast, sugar, salt and about 1/3 of the flour. Heat liquid with shortening until warm. Add liquid to dry ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer. Add about 1/2 cup flour or enough to make a thick batter. Add eggs. Beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Stir in additional flour needed to make a soft dough. Let rise until double. Punch down. Let rise again until double. Shape into kolache or rolls as desired. Let rise again. Bake in hot 350 to 400 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Brush with butter and cool.
