TURNIPS IN CREAM 
1 lb. white or yellow turnips
2 c. milk
4 tbsp. flour
4 tbsp. fat
Salt and pepper

Pare the turnips, cut them in cubes, cook until tender. Make a white sauce of the flour, fat, milk and seasonings. Pour sauce over turnip cubes and serve.

I modified the recipe; added 2 carrots, with 4" of turkey smoked sausage which was used as fat. Next, made the white gravy and added Garlic Pepper for seasoning. Mixed all together in the hot pot I boiled the turnips and carrot together. It came out excellent to my and my Mothers taste. Hope you all like my modifications.
