BUTTERSCOTCH PIE 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. milk
3 egg yolks
1 stick butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix brown sugar and cornstarch; add milk. Beat and add egg yolks. Add butter. Cook over medium low heat until thickened. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell.

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat whites until stiff. Add rest of ingredients and beat again until fluffy. Spread on pie and bake at 375 degrees until meringue is golden.
