HOMEMADE BREAD 
4 c. milk (scalded)
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. lard
3 tbsp. sugar plus 1 tbsp.
2 tsp. salt
12 c. flour (I use Gold Medal)
2 cakes or pkg. yeast

Scald milk. Mix sugar, butter, lard, salt, pour scalded milk over. In milk container pour 1/2 cup water, mix with yeast plus 1 tablespoon sugar. After scalded mixture cools to lukewarm, add yeast mixture, then add flour until firm, then put into greased pan, leave covered until doubles in bulk, punch down, let set 10 minutes. Make into 4 loaves, let double in bulk before baking. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
