FRESH ORANGE CAKE 
1 c. butter or Crisco
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. grated orange peel
5 eggs
3 c. flour, sifted once
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sweet milk

Cream butter and add sugar; then add rest of ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. About 15 or 20 minutes before the hour is up, pour the glaze over the cake.

ORANGE GLAZE:

1/4 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. fresh orange juice

Do not bring to a boil, but warm enough to melt sugar. After cake is done leave in oven for 2 or 3 minutes then remove from pan.
