JINGLE BELL BARS 
1 stick butter
1 egg
1 c. chopped nuts
Chocolate chips
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 c. flour
1 (10 oz.) jar strawberry or raspberry preserves

Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg. Add flour; mix well. Stir in nuts. Reserve 1 1/2 cups mixture.

Press remaining mixture into bottom of greased 9 x 13 pan. Spread with preserves to within 1/4-inch of outer edge of pan. Sprinkle with reserved butter mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips upon removal from oven. Cool; cut into bars. Approximately 20 bars.
