1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. (level) soda dissolved in 1 tbsp. boiling water

Bake at 350 degrees until firm to touch.

SAUCE:

1 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. sugar
1 c. coffee

Cook until thickened. Cool, then whip 1 cup cream with pinch of salt, and add coffee mixture and continue beating.
