PAT MC'S CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE | |
2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 stick butter 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. Wesson oil 1 c. water 6 tbsp. cocoa 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda Sift in bowl flour, sugar and salt. Put in saucepan butter, Wesson oil, water, cocoa and bring to boil. Add to flour and sugar mixture. Add buttermilk into which soda has been dissolved. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well and add vanilla. Pour into greased and floured cookie pan. Mixture will be thin. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes; no longer. ICING: Melt together 1 stick butter and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Add 1 box powdered sugar and 6 tablespoons milk, preferably canned, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat with spoon until smooth. Add chopped nuts, about 1 cup, and ice cake as soon as it comes from oven. |
