2 c. plain flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
2 unbeaten eggs

Mix together in saucepan butter, shortening, cocoa, and water. Let come to a boil. Pour boiling mixture over flour and sugar. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a long pan and bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes or until sides come loose from pan.

ICING:

1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box confectioners sugar (sifted)
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped pecans
