CHRISTMAS CUT - OUTS 
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk (save whites)
2 1/4 c. flour

Blend all but flour. Add flour and blend well. Chill 2 hours. Roll out to 1/8-1/4 inch thickness (thicker are softer). If desired, brush cut-outs with egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake at 350 degrees on ungreased cookie pan (be sure pan is cool) on highest shelf, about 10 minutes. Cool completely.

Mix up frosting in different colors and provide decorations such as gold and silver beads, red hots, mint leaf candy, sprinkles, etc. Help your child decorate the cookies.
