ALMOND BALLS 
1 c. butter
3/4 c. 10X sugar
1 c. almonds, ground up
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
18 cherries, halved

Cream butter until fluffy. Add sugar gradually continuing to cream, until all sugar is added and smooth. Add all of the rest of the ingredients except cherries and mix well. Take about a teaspoon of batter into your hand add a half cherry and roll into a small ball. Continue until there are 36 almond balls. Bake at 325 degrees on a greased cookie sheet, for 35 minutes. While still warm, roll cookies in some extra 10X sugar.
