FUDGY BLONDE BROWNIES 
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Sift flour with baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add nuts; mix well and set aside. Add sugar to melted butter in saucepan; mix well.

Blend in egg. Add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition. Spoon into 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. cool in pan, then cut into bars.

NOTE: For a more moist, chewy brownie remove from oven when center is slightly soft.
