SWEET PICKLE STICKS 
Fresh, firm cucumbers
3 3/4 c. vinegar
3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. salt
4 1/2 tsp. celery seed
4 1/2 tsp. turmeric
3/4 tsp. mustard seed

Use fresh, firm medium-size cucumbers. Wash and cut the cucumbers into sticks. Pour boiling water over them and let stand 4-5 hours. Drain and pack solidly into clean jars. Make a solution of the remaining ingredients. Boil the solution for 5 minutes and pour, boiling hot, over the cucumbers in jars.

Put on cap, screwing band firmly tight. Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes. Solution fills 6 pint jars.

NOTE: If sweeter pickle is desired, double up on the sugar.
