LENTILS 
2 c. dried lentils
1 tbsp. salt
2 1/2 qt. water
2 tbsp. corn oil or olive oil
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 sm. clove garlic

Place lentils, salt and water in pan and boil for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Place oil, tomato sauce and garlic in small frying pan and heat thoroughly. Simmer about 20 minutes; set aside. Add tomato sauce to cooked lentils and simmer about 10 minutes. Serve hot with French bread and green salad. Yield: 4 servings.
