BAKED RICE | |
1 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. minced onions 1/4 tsp. garlic salt (or garlic) 1 c. uncooked rice 1 1/2 c. chicken broth 1/4 tsp. dried thyme 1/2 bay leaf 1 tsp. dried parsley (or 1 tbsp. fresh parsley) 1 tbsp. butter Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cook onions in butter, add garlic, add rice, stir briefly until grains are coated with butter. Stir in broth making sure there are no rice lumps! Add parsley, thyme and bay leaf. Cover with a lid and bake approximately 20 minutes. Remove cover; discard bay leaf. Stir in 1 tablespoon butter and serve (goes well with sea food). |
