FRESH APPLE CAKE 
3 c. self rising flour
3 c. raw diced apples
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. oil
1 c. pecans or walnuts
1 c. raisins
3 eggs
1 tsp. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon

Blend oil and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add soda, vanilla, cinnamon and flour. Add apples, raisins and add nuts last. Cook in tube pan 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix together and boil for 2 minutes. Pour sauce over cake and cool before removing from pan.
