SWEDISH MEAT LOAF 
3/4 lb. ground beef
3/4 lb. ground pork
1 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 c. finely chopped onions
2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 c. half and half, divided
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, eggs, 1/4 cup half and half, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and allspice; mix well. Shape into a 6-inch round loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Place butter in a saucepan and heat until melted. Blend in flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; gradually add remaining half and half. Cook until sauce is thickened and bubbly, stirring often.

Transfer meat loaf to serving platter. Serve with sauce.
