BEEF CURRY 
1 bag frozen onions or 2 fresh, diced
1/2 c. oil
1 (2 oz.) box curry powder
1 tbsp. cumin powder
1 tsp. hot chili powder
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. coriander
2 bay leaves
3 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. red pepper or 2-3 diced
2-2 1/2 lbs. ground round

Fry onions in oil until transparent. Stir in all except meat to make "masala." Add meat. Pot down (push down in oil) and keep turning until meat is all brown. Same recipe can be used with stew beef in a deeper pan or Dutch oven - except add 1/2 teaspoon cloves. Cook 2 1/2-3 hours for stew beef. Serve either recipe over rice. To reheat rice: pop mustard seeds in butter, add rice, heat up.
