BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
GROUP I:

1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

GROUP II:

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

GROUP III:

1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. sliced apples
1/4 c. sliced almonds

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour and salt. Spread dough onto bottom and 1 1/2 inch high around sides of 9-inch springform pan.

Combine softened cream cheese and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Mix. Pour into pan.

Combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples and add to cream cheese mixture in pan. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees and continue baking for 25 minutes.
