TENNESSEE JAM CAKE WITH CARAMEL FROSTING | |
1 pkg. spice cake mix 1 c. buttermilk 1/3 c. applesauce 1/3 c. vegetable oil 3 eggs 1/4 tsp. cinnamon Caramel Frosting: 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted 1/2 c. light brown sugar 1/2 c. dark brown sugar 1/4 c. milk 2 c. confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Blackberry jam Mix cake ingredients. Pour into two (9-inch) round greased and floured pans. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Mix frosting ingredients together except blackberry jam. Put blackberry jam between cake layers, then frost cake with caramel frosting. |
