ENGLISH TRIFLE IN LAYERS 
Sponge cake or lady fingers
1/2 c. Amaretto
1/2 c. jam
2 c. vanilla custard pudding
1 can cherry pie filling
1 (8 oz.) carton whipped topping

Cut cake or lady fingers into 1 1/2 inch cubes. In a large, deep crystal bowl place cubes in flat layers. Drizzle with Amaretto. Spread this with 1/2 cup of jam or more if desired.

Next, add layer of pudding. Spoon cherry pie filling on top of pudding layer. Top with layer of whipped topping. Refrigerate for 6-8 hours. Cut in wedges or slices to serve. Serves 8-10.
