DILLED CARROTS 
1 lb. carrots
3 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Pare carrots and cut into strips. Place carrots into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Combine melted shortening, water, lemon juice, dill weed, salt and pepper; pour over carrots and toss to mix. Cover tightly and bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Stir twice during baking.
