CREAM CHEESE JAM BARS 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13 x 9 inch pan. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. In large bowl, combine first 6 ingredients; blend at low speed until crumbly. Press two cups crumb mixture into pan.

FILLING:

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. strawberry or peach or apricot preserves

In a small bowl, blend filling ingredients until smooth. Spread evenly over crumbs. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture; press lightly. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
