FLEMISH BEER STEW | |
1 lb. round steak, cut into 1 inch cubes 1/3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 6 to 8 sm. onions, peeled and quartered 1 clove garlic, chopped 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed beef broth 1 can beer 1 to 2 cans potatoes, halved or quartered 1 bay leaf 1/2 tsp. crumbled thyme Parsley Mix flour, salt and pepper. Roll meat cubes in flour mixture. Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in large saucepan. Brown meat on all sides. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until beef is tender. Stir occasionally. Add water if necessary to keep from sticking. |
