PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH APPLE CRISP | |
8 to 10 apples, thickly sliced (more if desired) 1/4 cup sugar 2 tbsp. cinnamon (more if desired) 4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice apples into bottom of buttered 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Dot with lumps of butter. TOPPING: 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg In a separate bowl combine sugar, baking powder, flour and salt. Into this break an egg and mix until crumbly; pour over apples. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes or until crust is brown. Serve warm with ice cream or milk. Submitted by: Jean Marotta |
