BERRY COBBLER 
1 qt. berries
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Pick and wash berries using a colander to let a tiny stream of water run over the berries and they will not be crushed. Pour berries into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

Prepare cobbler as follows:

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
1 egg

Combine flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in the shortening and add the 1/4 cup sugar, then milk and egg. Spread the batter over the berries and bake in a preheated 375°F for about 45 minutes.

Serve warm with cream.

This was yummy, however more like an upside down cake than a cobbler really (I mean there is no brown sugar at all!) I made mine hours before and just stuck it in the fridge until it was time to bake...that was super convenient!
