TOASTED PECANS 
1 lb. pecans
1 stick butter
2 egg whites
1 c. sugar

Toast 1 pound pecans in slow oven at 300 degrees on a cookie sheet. Remove pecans. Melt 1 stick butter on cookie sheet. Beat 2 egg whites and 1 cup sugar until very stiff. Fold in toasted pecans. Spread onto melted butter. Bake in 300 degree oven until sugar looks dissolved and light brown. Stir often while cooking, approximately 30 minutes.
