MOCK APPLE PIE 
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsps. cream of tartar
2 cups boiling water
22 Ritz crackers, regular size
1 pastry shell
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Dots of butter

Don't have any apples? Try this - belive it or not, no one will be able to tell the difference!

Bring sugar, cream of tartar and water to a boil. Add Ritz crackers and boil for 2 minutes. Do Not Stir. Pour into pastry shell. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg and dot with butter. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 25 minutes or longer until golden brown. Makes a 10 inch pie.
