CHRISTMAS CRYSTAL CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light Karo
1/2 c. water
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. anise flavor
Red food coloring

Combine sugar, Karo, water and salt. Boil until hard crack stage or 290 degrees. Stir in color and flavoring. Pour in buttered 8x8 pan and mark off in 3/4 inch squares. Re-mark until candy holds shape. When cool, turn out and break into small pieces.
