1 tsp. vanilla 1 lb. butter (sweet is best) 2/3 c. sugar 3 1/2 c. plain flour (sifted) 8 med. eggs or lg. 8 tbsp. coffee cream or sm. Pet milk Separate eggs (whip up whites), add 6 level tbsp. sugar while beating. Place in refrigerator until rest of cake is mixed. Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolks, about 2 at a time beating well after each addition until mixture is light as possible. Whip in egg whites only enough to mix well. Pour in tube pan that has been greased and dusted with flour. Bake about one hour and 25 minutes at 325 degrees. |
