RAISED DOUGHNUTS 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
5 eggs
2 pkgs. yeast
1 2/3 c. scalded milk
1 c. water
8 + c. flour

Soften yeast in 1/2 cup water with 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Cream sugar, butter, shortening, salt and eggs, the longer the better. Add softened yeast, milk and remaining water; mix. Add flour or more. Let rise. Roll out on floured surface and cut into doughnuts. Let rise and fry at 350 degrees.
