ITALIAN BROWNIES 
8 c. flour
1 c. cocoa
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. chopped nuts
1 lb. Crisco
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
8 tsp. baking powder

Combine all ingredients. Add milk as needed up to 2 cups to moisten. Roll in balls; insert walnut or maraschino cherry. Roll again to cover nut or cherry. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.

Can ice tops with powdered sugar and milk. Combine to make glaze: white for nut filled, red for cherry filled (red food coloring).
