QUICK PEAR BAKE | |
1/3 c. unsifted flour 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. butter 3 c. pears, sliced & peeled 2 tbsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. sherry 1/4 tsp. nutmeg In medium bowl, stir flour and sugar together. With 2 knives or a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Wash, quarter, core and peel pears. Slice into a well-buttered pie plate (9 inches). Sprinkle fruit with lemon juice, sherry and nutmeg. Scatter crumbly mixture over top and bake in a moderate 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until fruit tests soft with fork. Enjoy warm or cool with plain or whipped cream. |
