BAKED PEARS ELEGANTE 
4 med. pears
1 c. red wine
1 c. sugar
3 inch stick cinnamon
6 whole cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
6 thin slices lemon

Pare, halve, and core pears; place in 10 x 6 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish. In saucepan, combine remaining ingredients. Pour over pears. Bake, covered at 350 degrees, 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until pears are tender, basting once or twice to glaze pears. Serve hot or chill and top with whipped cream. Makes 4 servings.
