GLORIA'S PRUNE CAKE 
12 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. cut up pitted prunes
1 c. chopped nuts

Grease 9x13 pan. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Mix flour, cinnamon, salt and soda. Add to creamed mixture with buttermilk. Stir in prunes and walnuts. Bake 350 degrees, 40-45 minutes.

BUTTERMILK SYRUP:

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine and bring to a boil. Stir in vanilla. Pour hot syrup over cake.
