PRUNE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. apple pie spices
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sugar
1 c. cooking oil (Wesson, Mazola or Crisco oil)
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk with 2 tsp. baking soda stirred in
1 c. chopped prunes (Sunsweet in vacuum can or steamed)
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix flour, salt and spices. Add and mix well after each addition the following: sugar, oil, eggs, buttermilk with soda, prunes and nuts. Bake in tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.

GLAZE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk with 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Approximately 1/8 to 1/4 lb. butter

Melt butter in large saucepan, add buttermilk, sugar and soda. Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute. Pour it over cake the minute you take the cake out of the oven. Cool in pan, approximately 1 hour.
