SWEET AND SOUR FLOUNDER | |
1 med. sized onion, sliced 1 flounder, about 2 lbs. Pickling spices in clean cloth to make bag the size of a golf ball 1 tbsp. cream of tartar About 2 tbsp. sugar Cook onion in about 2 cups of water over low flame until tender. Put spice bag in pot with onions. While onions are cooking clean fish and then put in pot with onions. Bring to boil, turn down and cook for 15 minutes on slow boil. Make a paste of about 1 tablespoon of cream of tartar and 2 tablespoons of sugar and liquid from the fish. Mix to taste and pour over fish. Taste for seasoning. Cook about 5 minutes longer. Do not stir with spoon, stir by shaking pot. Lift fish out of pot. Put in dish. Pour liquid over fish. Let cool. |
